1B1 Norwegian Youth String Orchestra

The young, energetic string orchestra 1B1 is finally back at National Sawdust, after a string of jaw-dropping performances last November. The Norwegian based ensemble brings their fresh take on classical music to Brooklyn with inspired performances and hosts ten days of concerts with music as diverse as Vivaldi, Glenn Kotche, and Gershwin.

Sometime composer and ‘RadioLab’ creator Jad Abumrad cooks up an intriguing program featuring a trio of his favorite composer-musicians: Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche, singer and instrumentalist Caroline Shaw, and singer-songwriter Nick Hakim. They will perform rare solo sets that span genres, and chat with Jad about their creative process.
