VARIATIONS IN FOUR HANDS

(in collaboration with Sound Res International Residency Program)

In an evening of four-hand performances, pianists Alessio Bax and Lucille Chung will play the rarely heard original, four-hand version of Stravinsky’s “Petroushka” following a set by the lute / baroque guitar virtuoso Luca Tarantino with guest guitarist Gyan Riley.

Alessio Bax

Since taking first prizes at the Leeds International Pianoforte Competition and the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan, Alessio Bax has won audiences across the globe. In 2009 he was awarded an Avery Fisher Career Grant, one of the most prestigious prizes in classical music.

Lucille Chung

Lucille Chung made her debut at the age of 10 with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. She has since won First Prize-winner at the Stravinsky International Piano Competition, performed with over 60 leading orchestras around the world, and given solo recitals at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, Washington’s Kennedy Center and Phillips Collection, the Myra Hess Series in Chicago, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and Wigmore Hall in London, among other prestigious venues.

Luca Tarantino

Luca Tarantino is an Italian lutenist, guitarist and electronic music composer from Salento, in Southern Italy. He is currently working with the Concerto de’Cavalieri baroque orchestra, and his recent collaborations include Clogs and the National.
