About the Show
This is the second concert of John Zorn and National Sawdust’s Stone Commissioning Series, where Zorn presents his most cherished composers on the last Wednesday of each month in 2017.
In this performance, Matt Mitchell’s compositions are all related parts of a series, and stem from one bar of music called “A Pouting Grimace’. The series represents the highest levels of Mitchell’s sonic and compositional interests ever performed.
