The Artists

Kadhja Bonet makes music that is as varied in approach as it is in style. While a love for vintage soul and psychedelia can be inferred from her recordings, the direction these influences take is broad and fully her own. With lyrics as deliberate as its arrangements, her latest album Childqueen (2018) was praised by critics from NPR, Pitchfork, and beyond. It features an array of self-performed and self-produced live instrumentation, complemented by lush strings and organic synthesizers. Recently, she’s been a featured vocalist on collaborations with Anderson .Paak, SiR, The Free Nationals, and others, and her string arrangements have appeared under the flows of prominent artists like André 3000 and Pusha T.
