Kimbra is a New Zealand recording artist based in New York. Kimbra’s unique musical style draws from many different genres, often blending modern progressive pop and R&B with jazz and soul elements. Her musical influences range from Prince and Minnie Riperton, to Björk and Jeff Buckley.She has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, Saturday Night Live and Jimmy Fallon as well as performances at Brazil’s ‘Rock & Rio’ and extensive touring of the US & Europe. Her unique style was showcased on her debut album, Vows, which was released in Australia in 2011. Vows, which reached the Top 5 in New Zealand and Australia, also debuted at number 14 on the Billboard Charts. Kimbra is featured in the 2012 multi-platinum single ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ by Gotye which won the Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance awards at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards show for “Somebody That I Used to Know”. Kimbra’s second studio album ‘The Golden Echo’ was officially released on 19 August 2014 featuring a host of collaborators including Van Dyke Parks, Muse’s Matt Bellamy, the Mars Volta’s Omar Rodríguez-López,  Silverchair’s Daniel Johns, Bilal and bassist, Thundercat. The Golden Echo achieved critical acclaim worldwide with the LA Times and Rolling Stone magazine both naming it as one of their Top Ten Pop Albums of 2014. This year, Kimbra performed with David Byrne and The Roots to honor the late David Bowie at the 69th Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and is currently working on her third album in New York.
