About the Show
DJ/VJ duo The Hogstad Brothers helm a night of music and dancing as they spin the musical web of David Bowie and the iconic artists he influenced. Dancers from the production company MinuteZero will weave through the crowd throughout the night, accompanied by live-mixed, psychedelic, Bowie-themed, fashion-infused, dance-floor-interactive visuals projected onto National Sawdust’s architecture.

The Hogstad Brothers are a DJ/VJ duo that create immersive dance environments by live-mixing amazing music with dancer-interactive, beautiful, psychedelic projections, utilizing video samples and real-time 3D data from custom-hacked infrared depth cameras. Their musical palette is drawn from hip hop, soul, funk, electro, deep disco cuts, soulful house, and world bass.
The Hogstad Brothers have DJ’d and VJ’d at venues around NYC including Brooklyn Bowl and Le Poisson Rouge and frequently collaborate in experimental theater pieces. Their annual Purple Rain New Years Eve Dance Party has made TimeOut NYC’s top recommendations two years running. They are also instrumentalists in electro-soul collective Flyer Learning (www.flyerlearning.com).

Kristin Yancy (MinuteZero Co-Founder and Choreographer) is a Brooklyn-based artist and performer inspired by the tradition of storytelling, the subtle and dramatic means in which humans communicate, and the potential of sharing “theater magic” to a wider audience in intimate and unconventional ways.
